Leave that train of thought at the station.
Students cannot assume that they can’t get into a particular college or university based solely on their GPA. While grades are one of the main pieces of the puzzle that admissions counselors are taking into consideration, a GPA is just that...one of the many pieces. Colleges are interested in seeing the whole student and they work to get an understanding of not only how a student can fit into their college, and in turn, how their college can fit the student.
When applying, students should be sure to highlight ALL of their achievements and strengths - be it academic, athletic or artistic. If you have leadership experience, or you've interned at your uncle's business or you've volunteered at the local soup kitchen - share it all with the college - you might just be a piece that they are looking for.
